So this is my first prototype I made up using a CT ascender, steel plate, Double flush plug Steel Monel Rivets (Very strong -These are used for military helicopter and airplane parts). I replaced the spike Bolts with longer ones to compensate for the added plate. I will be testing it in the field tomorrow:loco:

I tested her out today, works great. Solid. Zero play, smooth action. It's nice to have the rope completely out of the way of your actual spike, and yet mounted towards the back to keep your point of view clear. I'm very happy thus far.

It's a great addition. Can be used Ddrt or Srt, either way it is a helpful tool.

I used in on my left foot, which was a learning curve in and of itself since I always use my right leg, but I have to balance the muscles eventually.

I knew those pictures really didn't do it justice, I was just excited and snapped a few to post. Here is a short video (excuse the low audio, not used to shooting videos) showing how the whole thing works, and how to easily install. I'm unsure if the distance between holes in the spikes vary from company to company (Buckingham, klein, etc)...but this works perfectly for the Buckingham steels, and I assume the titanium.

Feel free to ask any questions.

This is my first attempt, and I'm glad is was a success, however, I have many fine tune adjustments bouncing around in my mind that I'll be making soon.

Thanks for watching.
