Our last incumbent of three years came from two tours of duty at zoos, managing veg. They certified and were just promoted. Several others have advanced in similar manner both within our city and through other opportunities. One was promoted then took a great job with the state. Another was promoted, wrote a brief that benefits our workers to this day, and took a position with a forward-thinking urban forestry company. Another started a consulting company. I am making no claims to high pay for this position, but it has benefits and I am amazed/proud for our city at what the incumbents have accomplished both in this position and subsequently.
