Seems like these have become more popular and widely used in the last year or two, at least in my area. I’ve seen some of my competitors using them.

What I was curious about is, depending on the industry, they say it may require any employees who are interacting with clients to also do a background check in addition to the owner. So for those of you who use them or know someone who does, how many owners actually ask their employees to do a background check for LSA’s or are just doing it for themselves to be able to use them and not counting the employees? Especially if the employees are not necessarily interacting with clients just working at the property under the direction of the owner / crew leader?

I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t do things by the book, just wondering what other’s experience has been and whether people are actually doing that.

Kay said she only did it on me and her as owners. She described it as this. If the service is sensitive, like in home care aide, then you'd need to get everyone evaluated. With our field every job isn't sensitive. You might get one or two that require clearances, but it's not like industries where you're in someone's home unattended. Construction, landscaping, mechanics, etc fall into that category.

I didn't set them up, so I don't have first hand answers. But I trust Kay to do things right. So I'm hoping this is correct.

Thanks.

Just curious, in was scenario would you consider a job in our industry “sensitive” if it’s all outside? Maybe if you were sending a crew out by themselves and an owner who was background-checked isn’t present?

I mean from my understanding google might present it as “anyone who is working at a client’s property” should have the background check but as I expected, I’m sure not every owner or owners actually does that. And you haven’t had any issues with google checking up on you or anything regarding that if you don’t mind me asking?

Also, do you find the LSA’s are worth it when compared to regular google ads?

I have had work for hospitals, mental health clinics, summer camps, and military bases that require their own clearances. I screen employees when hired, but not for the lsa. I've never had a client have a worry about our employees. I've never had Google check in on it. I think they are worth it yes.

I can’t speak to the background check thing. How its setup really pisses me off though. Doing a search there isn’t one local company that comes up and all are off island. The few times I’ve tried Google ads I just get calls from way outside my service area.. pretty much a pita.
